Creamy Matcha Latte Parfait. This parfait is light and airy and a nutrient powerhouse because of the matcha and wheatgrass, both of which were gifted to me from Organic Burst, an awesome company that takes great care to source its ingredients fresh and ethically. They recently introduced matcha and the world is grateful.
This parfait is not hard to make, start with the latte – blend all ingredients cold and pour into parfait jars (I LOVE my Weck jars – buy them here!). A true matcha TEA of course is made with water, not milk, and is wisked with a special matcha tea wisk. But this recipe is different, it is for a LATTE used as a layer in a parfait (Just say’n, in case any one is confused!) Matcha is awesome, it is the leaf of the tea crushed and the quality has to be steller to produce a wonderful taste and OB’s quality is awesome, the taste of their new tea is so delicate.
Once the latte is blended up, stir in 1/2 cup of plant based yogurt and top with whipped coconut cream. (Whipped coconut cream is easy to make, just stir or hand-mix the ingredients for whipped coconut cream that I list below). Layer on granola or hemp hearts and more toppings. I love hemp hearts, so crunchy and wonderfully full of protein.
Creamy Matcha Latte Layer
- 1 cup nut milk
- 1/2 cup plant-based yogurt (recipe for coconut yogurt here)
- 1 tsp high quality Matcha powder (A gift from OrganicBurst)
- 1/2 tsp Wheatgrass (A gift from OrganicBurst)
- 1 tbsp Hemp Hearts (I like this brand)
Whipped Coconut Cream Layer
- 1 can coconut cream (I like this brand)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla paste
- 1 tsp or more maple syrup
