Beet Smoothie & Homemade Coconut Yogurt. Beets, in the same family as chard, spinach and quinoa, provide a myriad of nutrients but are especially considered to be excellent at detox. Beets boost your body’s production of glutathione, which aids detoxification by pulling toxins into the colon and out of the body. Beets are also considered a blood simulator, aiding eyes, stamina, blood pressure. And cooked beets actually have more fiber, but raw, the way I used them in this smoothie, are best for these nutrients I just explained.
- 1 small red beet, peeled, chopped
- 1/2 cup coconut water
- 1 cup raspberries
- 1 zucchini, peeled, frozen
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp maple syrup
