This fresh pomegranate smoothie with a bright flavor and has wonderfully healthy powers.
Among them, the ability to detox, reduce inflammation and lower blood pressure. And this smoothie has fiber and protein from pears and zucchini. The detox power comes partly from the ginger and lemon juice, but mostly from pomegranate juice and arils.
Pomegranates are incredibly healthy, full of essential nutrients, but also a bit of sugar so that needs to be noted if you need to watch your sugars.
What Are The Benefits of Pomegranate Fruit?
Oh my gosh, pomegranates are so healthy. They are rich in a wide range of essential nutrients, strong anti-inflammatories and reports show a strong propensity to lower blood pressure.
The nutrients include fiber, protein, vitamin C, vitamin K and folate and potassium.
The studies such as this one regarding blood pressure lowering show that drinking as little as 2 ounces of pomegranate juice a day can have an impact on lowering blood pressure.
One serving of this smoothie has ½ cup of juice, so 4 ounces and has arils from a pomegranate. Reduce the pomegranate juice if you need to to reduce sugar.
Can You Put Pomegranate Seeds In Smoothies?
Yes! Just be sure to blend them well so they disappear into your smoothie.
What Fruit Goes With Pomegranate?
I love to combine strawberries and pears but grapes, apple and mango go well too!
How to Make a Pomegranate Smoothie?
I added both the juice and arils but you can just add one or the other. And just add them to a blender along with frozen fruits! I hope you love my pomegranate smoothie!

Lemon Pear Pomegranate Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 cup pomegranate juice
- ½ cup pomegranate arils
- 3 cup strawberries frozen
- ¼ cup lemon juice
- 1 zucchini peeled
- 1 cup pears not peeled but chopped
- 1 tbsp minced ginger fresh minced, or buy paste I linked from The Ginger People!
Instructions
- Blend all until creamy. Add water to achieve creamier texture if necessary. Serve cold and pour leftovers into ice cube tray, to freeze overnight for future smoothies
