Marbled Chocolate Hazelnut Smoothie Bowl. Marbled food is fun, isn’t it? Makes you think you are getting two flavors for the price of one, and you are! Here is a rich chocolate smoothie base, with a ribbon of dark chocolate hazelnut winding through. Rivers of chocolate, isn’t that what life is all about?
This is a very rich smoothie, but also very healthy with everything-healthy avocado, protein-rich cashews, mood-boosting cacao and energizing maca powder. And a terrific weight-control breakfast because it is full of healthy ingredients that will help you feel satisfied both in hunger and sweet-tooth cravings for much of the day.
So go, go, go! If you have cashews soaked and an avocado on the counter, make it. If you don’t, go shopping. 😎 Seriously, I hope you enjoy this smoothie, and as with most of my recipes, comment here or on Instagram if you want an idea for a substitution. Life is too short to not have other options!
makes about 2-3 cups
- 1 cup raw cashews, soaked overnight
- 1 cup nut milk
- 2-3 pitted, medjol dates (or use 2-3 tbsp maple syrup)
- 1 avocado
- 1/2 cup cacao powder
- 1 tsp maca powder (I use this brand)
- 2 tbsp hazelnut butter
- 1 (3.5 ounce) dark chocolate bar (I use this vegan brand)
Pour the lighter chocolate into a smoothie bowl, and pour the dark on top in swirls and take a toothpick or fork and make swirls. I topped mine with hazelnut granola and cacao chips and fruit for a heavenly chocolatey morning.
