Step 1: Choose a sweet, ripe watermelon. - It will have a dull sheen - It will sound hollow when you knock - It will have a yellow stain where it ripened in the field

Step 2: Scoop watermelon meat out of fruit with a spoon. You can keep the seeds since you will be straining.

Step 3: Add the watermelon, lemon juice and salt to a blender. Use a quality salt such as Himalayan or pink sea salt for the best quality electrolytes.

Step 4: Blend the mixture for about 2 minutes or until all solids are pulverized. Taste-test and add more salt or lemon if desired.

Step 5: Pour the juice through a strainer. Discard the pulp and reserve the liquid for your watermelon juice.  Watermelon juice tastes best chilled so I would refrigerate it for an hour or more before drinking.

Step 6: Store watermelon juice in a sealed jar for up to a week.  For long term storage, freeze it in ice cube trays.
