Homemade Ginger Paste is easy to make in a blender with one ingredient, and this time-saving ginger puree can be used in so many recipes - to spice meals and to boost smoothies.
Wash the ginger to get the worst of the visible dirt off. Then using the edge of a spoon, scrap off all the skin. Snap off the smallest knobs if needed to get into crevices.
Chop the peeled ginger into small chunks and add to a blender or a food processor. A blender will give you a smoother result. Add 1 tablespoon of water.
1 pound fresh ginger root
Process the ginger until you have a paste. It will take anywhere from 1 minute to 3 minutes to break down depending on the power of your blender.
Scrap the container, and transfer the ginger puree into your chosen containers.

Notes
1 pound of fresh ginger makes ½ to ⅔ cup of ginger paste. If your blender is very weak, add up to 2 tablespoon of water per 1 cup of ginger root to encourage blender blades.Don't try to blend less than ½ cup of ginger or it won't be enough to break down.
