Lime water, made from fresh lime juice, is hydrating and refreshing, easy to make with just two ingredients in 5 minutes. It is a popular morning drink for its support of digestion, immunity and even eye protection. Drink warm or cold.
Add 2 tablespoon of lime juice either homemade or bottled, or from 2 fresh limes, and add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to a glass.

Then add 1 cup of water.
For a Pitcher
Add 1 cup of lime juice either homemade or bottled, or from 8 fresh limes, and add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to a glass.
1 cup lime juice, 2 tablespoon lemon juice
Then add 6 cups of water.

How to drink
To drink warm, microwave a microwave-safe cup or glass for 1 minute before adding lime juice.
To drink cold, refrigerate or add ice. Chilled will taste less sweet than warm.

How to Juice Limes. Microwave them for 10 seconds each before slicing and squeezing. Roll them on the counter using the heel of your hand to break the inside fibers. Both methods will increase the amount of juice you get from each lime. You should get about 1 cup of juice from 8 limes.Lime water can be refrigerated for about 2 days before losing flavor and nutrients.You can also freeze lime water in an ice cube tray. Then, the night before, pop a single ice cube in a refrigerated glass and it melts overnight. Over the next few days, I use that to make the drink over a few days.Add Lemon juice. My recipe adds a small amount of lemon juice to add a tang to lime water.Lavender - add a drop or two of culinary lavender extract to the pitcher.Cherry - add 2 teaspoon of cherry juice to a glass of lime water, and 3 tablespoon to a pitcher.Pineapple - add 2 teaspoon of pineapple juice to a glass of lime water, and 3 tablespoon to a pitcher.
