Measure 1 cup of chocolate chips into a 2-cup heat safe container - I like to use this 2-cup pyrex measuring cup.
Microwave for 1 minute.
Stir the melted chips until smooth. If some chips remain unmelted, microwave again in 10 second increments. Use your melted chocolate in recipes!
Using a Pot of Boiling Water
Measure 1 cup of chocolate chips into a 2-cup heat safe container - I like to use this 2-cup pyrex measuring cup, the same one I use when microwaving.
Fill a pot of water about 2 inches deep. Measure 1 cup of chocolate chips into the measuring cup, and set it in the center of the pot. Do not let any water touch the chips!
Turn on the heat and boil the water, stirring the chocolate chips - without letting any water touch the chocolate - until the chips have melted. This takes about 1-2 minutes, depending on how hot your stove is.
