These Oreo brownie balls are no bake, wholesome and made with only 4 ingredients. Instead of dates, I used applesauce, making this healthy chocolate treat high in nutrition. These Oreo balls are coated with melted chocolate chips and ready in 15 minutes.
Either blend up a fresh apple - with skin, or use store-bought applesauce. If using prepared applesauce stick to ⅔ cup and you might have to add more flour because store-bought applesauce has more liquid.
Crush Oreos.
Make brownie balls
Add all ingredients to a bowl.
1 cup Oreo cookies, crushed, ¼ cup black cocoa powder, ⅔ cup applesauce, 1 ½ cup oat flour, ¼ teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla
Stir into a smooth, scoopable dough. If it’s too dry, add a teaspoon of milk at a time; if too wet, add more flour.
Divide the batter into balls. Freeze until hard enough to dip, maybe 10 minutes.
Make chocolate topping
Add the chocolate chips to a heat-safe measuring cup, microwave for 1 minute. Stir until thick and creamy.
1 cup chocolate chips, 2 tablespoon coconut oil, ¼ cup Oreo cookies, crushed
Dip the balls into the cooled, melted chocolate. Either lower the balls and roll with two forks, or use two fingers to plunge the balls into the chocolate leaving the flat base free of chocolate.
Refrigerate for 5 minutes and serve.
Notes
Keep these brownie balls refrigerated for 4 days or freeze for 3 months.Texture Adjustment: Add a little milk if the mixture feels crumbly, or more flour if too sticky.*for oreo-free balls, either use a healthier sandwich cookie or use chocolate chips instead.
