What is Christmas Crack?
Christmas crack is a simple holiday treat traditionally made of crackers, boiled caramel and chocolate. My healthy version has the chocolate top like bark, but uses pretzels instead of crackers, and a creamy no bake chocolate chip cookie dough. My Christmas Crack with pretzels is dairy free, gluten free and refined sugar free.
Ingredients
Oat flour. You can use almond flour instead but the Christmas crack will be less snappy because almond flour has more fat.
Peanut butter. I also use almond butter, the healthy kind with only nuts in the ingredients.
Maple syrup. Or any liquid sweetener.
Pretzels. Some crushed, some to layer. Use a dairy free, gluten free brand to keep the crack healthier. Make sure your pretzels are fresh and crispy, not stale or you won't get a 'crack'.
Baking soda, vanilla extract, salt. For flavoring.
Chocolate chips. Both to mix into the dough, and to melt for the chocolate shell on top.
See the recipe card at the bottom for full information on ingredients and quantities.

Recipe Tips
To make oat flour, blend rolled oats dry in your blender, or you can buy oat flour.
Baking soda is there for flavor, not to help it rise because this recipe is no bake. The baking soda helps give the cookie dough base a raw cookie dough flavor.
Variations
This Christmas Crack is extremely easy to customize.
- Swap pretzels for nuts or granola.
- Swap the chocolate top with melted white chocolate instead.
- Vary the sprinkles or use dried fruit.
- Add a layer of date paste between the cookie dough base, pretzels and melted chocolate top.
