Ingredients
Strong coffee. Brew up your favorite flavor coffee in a coffee maker, a pod maker, a French press - you decide! Or use instant coffee or even decaffeinated. You'll only need ½ cup.
Milk. You'll want one that froths well. Higher fat milk such as coconut, and almond, and cashew milks tend to froth well.
Pumpkin puree. Canned is best, with only pumpkin in the ingredients. Don't use pumpkin pie filling, it has additional ingredients.
Ingredients for the homemade pumpkin spice syrup
Brown sugar. To keep it refined sugar free use coconut sugar. Or you can use maple syrup.
Pumpkin pie spice. Make your own pumpkin pie spice or use a store bought bottle.
Vanilla + salt. The hefty dose of vanilla mimics coffee shop syrups, and the salt brings out all the flavors.
See the recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities.
Substitutions
With the pumpkin puree. You can use sweet potato puree instead. It will add the creamy texture, and the pumpkin pie spice will carry the pumpkin spicy flavor.
Brown sugar. Regular brown sugar works and adds a caramel flavor, but coconut sugar also works and keeps the drink refined sugar free. Maple syrup also works.
