How Many Ounces in a Pint?
The answer is there are 16 ounces in a pint. Specifically, there are 16 fluid ounces in a pint because pints usually measure fluids.
That means that if you were to use a recipe that requires 2 cups of milk and you have a 1 pint container of milk, you have exactly enough for the recipe.
1 pint = 16 ounces = 2 cups
Here is a short comparison chart to convert ounces to pints in varied amounts.

Pint Sizes in USA vs UK
In different countries, the size of a pint can vary. For instance, in the United Kingdom a pint holds 20 fluid ounces, or as they call it, 20 imperial fluid ounces. (Their imperial system is different than the one used in the US.) I think given the choice I'd rather have a beer in Britain.
To explore ounces and pints further, first let's define them.
What is an Ounce?
What is an ounce? An ounce is a measurement for liquids or dry ingredients used within the US standard system of measurement used in the United States. An ounce, abbreviated as "oz", and is used to measure dry and wet amounts. When liquids are measured, we add the word "fluid", calling them "fluid ounces" also called "fl oz". To give you a little etymology of the term, the word ounce comes from the Romans who called it "uncia" which means one-twelfth because it was a unit they used to indicate 1/12 of their pound.
What is a Pint?
What is a pint? A pint in the United States is defined as 16 ounces or 473 ml or 2 cups. In the United Kingdon, a pint is 20 ounces or 568 ml. The US, as I mention, uses a different measurement system, the US customary system, whereas the United Kingdom uses a different system but even their system uses a pint measurement that is an anomaly. Since both are named "pint" I am sharing the UK measurements, but they are not relevant to cooking in US kitchens.

Practical Measurements in Ounces & Pints
Different ingredients are associated with ounces and pints. For instance beer is commonly served as pints or half pints in both the USA and UK. Whereas semi-liquid ingredients such as yogurt or whipped cream are measured in ounces.
To complicate things further, ounces measure differently when the ingredient is dry such as chocolate chips or nuts or berries. In this case, a dry ounce with the US customary system is about 18 ounces, a little larger to accommodate the space that dry ingredients don't take up.

How to Measure Pints & Ounces
When measuring for ounces or pints, you need to use the proper tools.
To measure ounces using the glass cup, be sure the ounce markings are clear. If pouring liquid, eyeball that the liquid meets the proper ounce line, noting that the center dip of the meniscus hits the line.
To measure pints, you would also use a glass container though there are fewer available so most people measure pints by measuring ounces. For instance, the glass measuring cup below has a capacity of 1 pint which is equal to 16 ounces.
