    This fresh orange smoothie without banana, the perfect immunity booster, that is easy to make with 4 ingredients, including zesty lime, smooth mango, and bright ginger like a healthy orange Julius.

    This creamy orange smoothie without banana is made with 4 simple ingredients including oranges, limes, mango and ginger, without banana, and tastes like a healthy Orange Julius. Like my carrot ginger juice, this citrus orange smoothie is the perfect smoothie when you need an immunity boost and feel under the weather.

    This smoothie also has a fresh taste from lime and ginger, and is refreshing. This fruit smoothie is perfect for the cold and flu season just like my strawberry smoothie, electrolyte drink, beet juice, lemon ginger shots and wellness shots. And supportive of weight loss efforts like my granola smoothie, peanut butter oatmeal smoothie and my broccoli smoothie with fruit.

    Ingredients

    oranges. Navel or clementines are perfect; seedless is best.
    mango. Frozen is best.
    lime. Use lime juice; a whole lime will only add bitterness.
    ginger. Use fresh ginger root, a little will go far.
    milk. Use your favorite milk.
    salt.

    Step 1: Microwave the oranges for 10 seconds and kneed them beneath the heel of your hand to increase juiciness. Peel the orange, and add the slices to a blender.

    Step 2: You can add a slice of lime or lime juice which can be less bitter. Add frozen mango, chopped fresh ginger and the rest and blend until creamy.

    Step 3: Pour and enjoy.

    Recipe Tips

    • The best blender to use is the blender you own. I love both my Blendtec and my Nutribullet but any blender is fine for this recipe.
    • Do not add a sweetener to this smoothie - the oranges and mango will sweeten it enough.

    Variations & Substitutions

    • Oranges. Use navel or clementines for best juice.
    • Milk. Use coconut water for a thinner smoothie with a coconut flavor.
    • Mango. Use pineapple or pear instead.
    • Lime juice. Use lemon juice.

    Storage

    Store this orange smoothie for 24 hours to drink when the nutrition is at its height. Or pour the smoothie into ice cube trays to freeze it long term. Then blend up the cubes to recreate your smoothie.

    What can I use to thicken a smoothie instead of banana?

    But when I started experimenting, I discovered a handful of easy banana substitutes that lend a similar thick and creamy consistency to your smoothies. To make a smoothie without a banana, you can substitute oatmeal, avocado, chia seeds, frozen fruit, yoghurt or tofu

    Can I put a whole orange in my smoothie?

    Yes, remove the peel however as the peel and white pith will make your orange smoothie bitter.

    Should I add ice to this smoothie?

    No, do not add ice to this smoothie or any, it will only water down the flavor. Instead, keep milk frozen in the freezer and add frozen milk cubes to any recipe that asks for milk to be added.

    Why is my smoothie bitter?

    If your limes are under-ripe, they can make the smoothie taste less sweet. In that case, adding more mango should balance off the flavor.

    • Peel oranges, and remove the white pith strings.
    • Wash ginger root and dice into tiny pieces.
    • Either slice or juice a lime, or measure out organic lime juice.
    • Add all ingredients to blender.
    • Blend to process into a creamy drink.
